Meeting the future needs of military operations
ZeroAlpha Solutions and PacStar launch new Tactical Hyper-Convergence Module to UK markets.
31st May 2017 – CARDIFF, UK – ZeroAlpha Solutions are pleased to announce that its PacStar 455 Tactical Hyper-Convergence Module is now available with VMware® vSAN™, providing high performance virtualization and storage platform for forward deploying applications in a compact, quick setup, and rugged form factor. PacStar 455 with VMware vSAN pools together the compute and storage capabilities of PacStar 455 for mission critical applications requiring high levels of availability and reliability, without the system complexity of traditional SAN architectures.
VMware vSAN provides virtual, pooled storage across the RAID protected SSDs in multiple PacStar 455s, simplifying storage management and providing both High Availability and Fault Tolerance – protecting operations against individual module failures. A real advantage is that vSAN delivers this capability without the need for additional software loads and is also tightly integrated into the VMware stack, thereby taking advantage of key VMware vSphere features such as vMotion and vRealize – while also reducing operator training time.
PacStar 455 is part of a suite of solutions providing high-performance routing, switching and advanced network services in quick setup, ultra-compact form factors, engineered by PacStar to enable teams from MoD, Homeland Security, First Responders and civilian organizations to easily and securely deploy remote IT capabilities on mission critical communications networks.
All PacStar 400-Series modules and transport solutions are designed and extensively tested to meet MIL-STD and FCC environmental requirements ensuring reliable performance in austere and demanding environments. The modules are available in a variety of configurations to meet a wide range of communications requirements.
PacStar 400-Series is optionally managed by PacStar IQ-Core® Software, which simplifies system setup, network management and protects the system from mis-configuration by operators in the field.
